BEST OF THE BEST OF SURF NATION

Surf Select is a national identification program that brings together the most talented pool of players and coaches across the Surf Nation Community. Through a series of regional and national events, players will be identified to represent Surf Select at some of the top domestic and international events across world football.

THE SURF SELECT PROCESS

STEP 1:

Player recommendation from Club DOC by September of each season.


STEP 2:

Player attends Surf Select Regional ID Programs – September-December. We have 7 regional ID events across the country.


STEP 3:

Player gets identified and selected from Regional ID events to attend Surf Select National Selection Events in February.


STEP 4:

Players get rostered to play on the Surf Select teams that will compete domestically or internationally in the summer.


Through the Surf Select Regional Program, the National pathway will see the best players selected based on their performance, current stage of development, and character within a Team environment.

SURF SELECT NATIONAL

NATIONAL TEAM CAMP: U9-U13

Players are selected based on their performance in the regional program and will participate in the National Camp to earn a spot on either the Surf Select National Blue & White teams.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: U14 ONLY

Tournament-based event welcoming all U14 teams across Surf Nation, players will be selected based on their performance within the event.

REGIONAL RECOMMENDATIONS: U15-U17

Each Region will build out their teams to compete in a showcase event. The national team Coaches will scout and build out their rosters identifying players in positional needs while allowing players to showcase their talent in a game environment.

After a number of local, regional and national ID events, the Surf Select Program has been in full swing with 32 teams traveling all across the world for some of the best youth soccer events. Highlights of the season so far: Girls 2009 Blue crowned champions of Super Cup NI, Girls 2006 Blue crowned champions of the Surf Cup Olders and Girls 2009 Blue crowned champions of the Foyle Cup.


Other teams, formed by players across 55 Surf Nation clubs, have traveled to: Easter Cup International (Orlando, FL), Surf Cup (San Diego, CA), USA Cup (Blaine, MN), Premier Super Copa (Bradentona, FL), BH Cup (Belo Horizonte, Brazil), Valencia Cup (Valencia, Spain), Royal Pre Season Cup (Reading, England), Surf Cup International (Barcelona, Spain)
